What is ultrasonography?
Ultrasonography (USG) is a non-invasive and non-painful method of imaging organs using ultrasound waves.
An ultrasound examination of joints, such as knees or shoulders, and also of tendons is extremely useful in the correct diagnosis of diseases and damages within them. The image obtained with ultrasound waves allows to assess the condition of the examined joints and tendons, and thus select the most effective method of treatment or rehabilitation. A comprehensive ultrasound examination assesses the structure of joints together with adjacent muscles and determines the size of changes resulting from trauma-related damage, among others.
